What is the difference between a Domain Name transaction and a Domain Name Holding Service transaction?

In a Domain Name transaction, Escrow.com secures the entire purchase amount from the Buyer and then prompts the Seller to transfer the domain(s) directly to the Buyer. The Buyer confirms receipt of the domain(s) and the funds are released to the Seller.

In a Domain Name Holding Service transaction, Escrow.com secures a down payment from the Buyer and then prompts the Seller to transfer the domain(s) to Escrow.com. The domain(s) are held in the protection of Escrow.com during a predetermined period and payments are made through escrow during the term. At the end of the term when all payments are completed, the domain(s) are transferred from Escrow.com to the Buyer.

The Domain Name Holding Service has dollar and term minimums and additional fees apply. Please contact support@escrow.com for more information.
